Good to hear that you like the owl :-)...Hi, Billie.

Good to hear that you like the owl :-)

Lino cuts are quite easy to do. For this piece I was still using artist's lino, soon I will try soft lino. This is said to be even easier.

You can copy an image on to the lino like you described. That is how I copied existing pattern, like the dragon.

For the owl I simply sketched with a soft pencil on the lino. Then I marked with a black waterproof felt tip pen where the cut should go because the gray pencil doesn't show up very well against the dark brown lino. This last step isn't really necessary, though. Or as an alternative you could use a white pencil instead of the gray.

For the cutting itself you need a few special tools (essentially knives) that are easy to use.Büchertigerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01720870005097703428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3142490853254351140.post-69859222751623431882008-10-04T13:56:00.000+02:002008-10-04T13:56:00.000+02:00I LOVE LOVE your owl, I collect owls so think she ...I LOVE LOVE your owl, I collect owls so think she is adorable! Is it difficult to do lino cuts?

Do you draw the image on paper, then flip it over to trace onto the lino?

Like the dragon too, but the owl is my favorite, so cute.

Billie :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
